Young Construction, in conjunction with Central Coast Real Estate, assembled a team of trades to create a new garden courtyard at the Girls Inc. site in Santa Barbara. Girls Inc., a non-profit organization that facilitates activities for local girls, will use the new garden space to focus educational programs on the value of healthy living through improved nutrition. Phylicia Bulmer, owner of Organic Soul–a vegetable garden design, installation and maintenance business–conceptualized the garden project. Young Construction provided supervision, labor and materials, along with donations of material and labor from Karl Funk Construction, Construction Plumbing, Wilson Landscaping, All-Around Landscape Supply, and Hayward Lumber. Tino’s Italian Grocery re-opens its doors in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. This past year Young Construction had the privilege of working with the Tino’s family in establishing their new location at 210 W. Carrillo Street. The much loved deli has a long history in Santa Barbara and has been a cherished part of the lives of many members of the community. Valentino “Tino” Ziliotto established the business in 1947 and had only moved the Deli to one other location since, which was on De La Guerra Street where it operated for nearly 40 years. Many would agree that Tino’s makes the best Italian sub sandwiches in town, and we are happy to know that the family promises to […]
